IV Hydration & Vitamin Therapy
What is IV Therapy?
IV Vitamin Therapy works by administration of vitamins and nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. This provides increased cell absorption and 100% bioavailability of vitamins via IV infusion.
What are Booster Shots?
Booster shots are administered via intramuscular injection (IM) so there is no GI metabolism, which also allows for increased absorption. With oral supplements, you only get about 20% absorption after filtering through your digestive system, which clearly pales in comparison to IV vitamins.
How often should I come for an IV or Booster Shot?
The frequency of treatments depends on the individual and condition being treated. They are typically given weekly for four to six weeks and then tapered down as things improve. Then, monthly IVs can be given for maintenance.
What can I expect during my first visit?
If you are not already an existing Oasis Primary Care Clinic patient, your first visit will involve a review of your health history, medications, supplements and allergies. Please ensure that you have had a substantial mean and are well-hydrated beforehand. It is suggested that you don’t consume alcohol 24 hours before your treatment. All of these tips ensure that the treatment can go as comfortably as possible. Usually, your bag will drip for 1 to 1.5 hours, so bring a book or a tablet, or just kick back, relax and soak it all in!
